For all of the above configurations, when connecting to the M9393A Soft Front
Panel, select the M9169E and M9155C modules in addition to the other M9393A
modules from the list of available modules and specify ExternalSwitch = 1 in the

accommodates the lower frequency range (9 kHz to 3.6 GHz), the upper limit of
frequency range that can be analyzed gets restricted to 40 GHz, and not 50 GHz
(when using M9169E Programmable Attenuator module alone). This is because
M9155CH40 has an upper frequency ceiling of 40 GHz.

Cabling for Wideband IF

The M9393A wideband IF output can be directly accessed for up to 800 MHz of
bandwidth by bypassing the IF Conditioning/Filtering path of the M9365A
Downconverter module. To use this capability, the following is required:
Higher IF bandwidths are not achievable using the M9214A Digitizer bundled with
the M9393A instrument. Hence, the M9214A Digitizer, which has a maximum of 160
MHz bandwidth, is bypassed in the suggested configuration, but must remain
installed in the chassis.
In the suggested configuration:
Following are the cabling requirements for the suggested configuration:

You must not attempt to connect

configuration. This is because M9155C has an upper frequency limit of 26.5
GHz as compared to 40 GHz for the M9155CH40 switch module. Also,
M9393A comes with cables that are suitable for the 2.92 mm connectors of
the M9155CH40 only, in contrast to the 3.5 mm connectors of the M9155C
switch module.

The wideband digitizer used is the M9202A, which is installed in an x8 slot of
the M9018A chassis.
The 100 MHz Out connector on the M9300A module is connected to the
M9202A Ref In connector of the M9202A Wideband Digitizer module.
The IF Out connector on the M9365A Downconverter module is connected to
the Input connector of the M9202A Wideband Digitizer module.
