CAUTION!
Risk of burns due to hot surfaces and danger of
loss of property due to overheating!
Cultivation with the temperature sensor (Pt-100)
not inserted or with an insufficiently filled single-use
vessel carries a risk of overheating the vessel. This
can lead to burns when skin comes in contact with
the hot vessel. Overheating the vessel can also
damage the vessel or the culture. Insufficient liquid
in the vessel will lead to faulty temperature
measurement.
Therefore:
– Ensure the single-use vessel is filled with the
min. permitted liquid (min. working volume =
0.9 l).
– Ensure the temperature sensor (Pt-100) is
inserted into the thermowell according to the
instructions stated in the documentation from
the vessel manufacturer Merck Millipore™
Cultivation can now be started. A detailed description how to
operate the equipment can be found in the main chapter
"Operation" in the operating manual of the bioreactor Labfors 5.
Observe the safety advice and adhere to the steps in the
procedure stated therein.
