5.1.1 Connecting a Pump with a Reagent Bottle

Procedures to carry out prior to Cultivation
Reagent bottles with two connections are available as standard.
Bottle sizes from 250 mL up to 5000 mL are available. They are
equipped ex-factory.

2 Silicone hose

Accessories for vessel and pump connection are included in the
Starter-Kit.
To connect a reagent bottle with a pump and to prepare it for
sterilisation and later connection with the single-use vessel
proceed as follows:
1. Thoroughly rinse the reagent hose with distilled water before
sterilisation.
2. Fill the bottle with reagent up to the required amount and refit
the lid.
3. Clearly label the reagent bottle according its content.

NOTICE!
Filling the hoses with water during sterilisation in
the autoclave enables a better heat transfer and
reduces risk of contamination.
