5.7 Fitting and Connecting the Heater Pad

Procedures to carry out prior to Cultivation
The temperature sensor (Pt-100) must be inserted into the
thermowell in the single-use vessel.
Adhere to the instructions in the documentation from the
manufacturer Merck Millipore™.
NOTICE!
If a polarographic pO
must be polarised at this point. For details refer to
the operating manual of the bioreactor and to the
separate documentation from the manufacturer of
the sensor.
DANGER!
Danger of fatal electric shock!
The use of a damaged or wet/damp heater pad can
be perilous.
Therefore:
– Always check the whole surface of the heater
pad for any cracks and breaks/kinks and ensure
the cable connection is firmly attached before
every use. Replace the heater pad as
necessary.
– Never use a wet or damp heater pad.
– Always disconnect the heater pad from the
bioreactor after use.
To fit the heater pad around the single-use vessel and connect it
with the Labfors 4 Cell, proceed as follows:
1. Ensure the heater pad is dry, has no cracks breaks/kinks and
the cable connection is firmly attached. Replace the heater
pad if necessary.
2. Fit the heater pad around the single-use vessel.
