Displaying the safety zone marker

A safety zone marker can be displayed.

Select the type of the frame in the [VIDEO OUT/LCD/VF] menu → [MARKER] → [SAFETY MARKER].
f The safety zone marker is not displayed when [OFF] is selected.
Setting the size of the frame.

Select the size of the frame in the [VIDEO OUT/LCD/VF] menu → [MARKER] → [SAFETY AREA].

Displaying frame marker

A frame marker can be displayed.

Select the angle of the view in the [VIDEO OUT/LCD/VF] menu → [MARKER] → [FRAME MARKER].
f The frame marker is not displayed when [OFF] is selected.

t This is fixed to [OFF] when the [SYSTEM] menu → [REC FORMAT] → [480-59.94i/AVCHD SA]/[576-50.00i/AVCHD SA] and the [SYSTEM] menu →
[ASPECT] → [4:3] are set.
Setting the display color

Select the display color in the [VIDEO OUT/LCD/VF] menu → [MARKER] → [FRAME COLOR].

t The marker cannot be recorded.
t The marker is not displayed while displaying the color bars when the enlarged display function of the focus assist function is enabled.

Focus assist function

The focus assist function enables you to focus the target easily.
The recording image on the LCD monitor and the viewfinder can be displayed enlarged, or the focused area can be visually enhanced.
Enlarged display function
Center of the recording image is displayed enlarged to make it easier to focus.
To enable the enlarged display function, press the <FOCUS ASSIST> button, press the USER button to which [EXPAND] is assigned, or touch the
USER button icon.
When enabling the enlarged display function by pressing the <FOCUS ASSIST> button
r Assigning [EXPAND] to the <FOCUS ASSIST> button
Set to enable/disable the enlarged display function by toggling the setting with the <FOCUS ASSIST> button.

Select the [VIDEO OUT/LCD/VF] menu → [FOCUS ASSIST] → [FOCUS ASSIST SW] → [EXPAND].
r Using the enlarged display function

Press the <FOCUS ASSIST> button.
Press the <FOCUS ASSIST> button again to return to the normal display.
When enabling the enlarged display function by pressing the USER button or touching the USER button icon
r Assigning [EXPAND] to the USER button
Set so enable/disable of the enlarged display function can be switched with an arbitrary USER button.

Select the [CAMERA] menu → [USER SW] → [USER1] to [USER12] → [EXPAND].
r Using the enlarged display function

Press the USER button to which [EXPAND] is assigned or touch the USER button icon.
Press the USER button or touch the USER button icon again to return to the normal display.
Pressing the <EXIT> button also returns to the normal display.
Setting the mode for enlarged display function

Select the mode for the enlarged display function in the [VIDEO OUT/LCD/VF] menu → [FOCUS ASSIST] → [EXPAND MODE].
[10SEC]: Disables the enlarged display function after ten seconds have elapsed.
[HOLD]: Enables the enlarged display function until the <FOCUS ASSIST> button assigned to [EXPAND] or the USER button is pressed or the
USER button icon is touched again.
[UNTIL REC]: Enables the enlarged display function until starting the recording operation.
