Frequently asked questions

Power supply

r What is the power supply voltage supported by the supplied AC adaptor?
f AC 100 V-240 V
r Can the supplied AC adaptor used while the battery is mounted?
f It can be used. Supplying of the power is automatically switched to the AC adaptor side when the power is set to < j > (ON) and the AC adaptor is
connected while the battery is mounted.
The power status display in the LCD monitor will change from the
r The camera cannot be operated even when the power is set to < j > (ON).
f Remove the power supply (the battery or the AC adaptor), and connect it again after approximately one minute.

Battery

r The battery gets exhausted quickly, so is there any way to improve?
f Charge the battery sufficiently.
f The operating time becomes shorter in low temperature.
f If the time is short after sufficient charging, the battery life has expired.
r Can the battery that was used in the previous models used?
f VW-VBD58 (optional) can be used.
It is recommended to use the following Panasonic genuine batteries.
- AG-VBR59 (supplied/optional, 7.28 V, 5900 mAh)
- AG-VBR89 (optional, 7.28 V, 8850 mAh)
- AG-VBR118 (optional, 7.28 V, 11800 mAh)
r Can the supplied battery be charged with the battery charger AG-B23 (DE-A88) (optional)?
f It can perform normal charging. It cannot perform quick charging.

Battery charger

r Can the previous battery charged with the supplied charger?
f It can perform normal charging.
f To perform quick charging, use the quick charging compatible battery. The camera is compatible to following quick charging compatible batteries.
- AG-VBR59 (supplied/optional, 7.28 V, 5900 mAh)
- AG-VBR89 (optional, 7.28 V, 8850 mAh)
- AG-VBR118 (optional, 7.28 V, 11800 mAh)

Memory card

r Operation is not accepted even when a memory card is inserted into the card slot.
f The memory card to use with the camera should always be formatted on the camera.
The memory card formatted on a computer cannot be used in the camera.

Shooting

r The focus is not adjusted automatically.
f Is the manual focus mode set? Set the auto focus mode to adjust the focus automatically.
f Are you shooting in conditions which focusing is difficult with the auto focus mode? Auto focus has trouble focusing under certain conditions. In this
case, the manual focus mode can be used to focus the camera.
Under following conditions, focus may not be adjusted properly:
- Shooting subjects that is in long and short distances at the same time
- Shooting a subject through a dirty glass
- Shooting in a dark place
- With a glittering object nearby
- Shooting a fast-moving subject
- Shooting a low contrast subject
r The shooting stops by itself, and cannot shoot.
f Use the SDXC memory card, the microP2 card B series or the 64 GB microP2 card A series when the recording format is set to MOV format. The
camera cannot record data in MOV format to the SDHC memory card or the 32 GB microP2 card A series.
f Use the memory card with the required Speed Class in accordance with the recording bit rate. (page 41)
r Audio cannot be recorded.
f Audio cannot be recorded in the following cases.
- When the variable frame rate recording function is enabled, and the frame rate is set different from the system frequency
