Step: 3. Turn the outer hub of the pulley
counter--clockwise 1/2 to 1--1/2 turns.
CAUTION!
The inner hub has "flats" for the
set screw to be tightened against. It is
important that care be taken to align one of
these flats with the set screw so that the
threads on the inner hub will not be
damaged.
Step: 4. Slide the motor forward (toward the feed
end) until the belt is reasonably tight.
NOTE!
DO NOT MAKE THE BELT TOO TIGHT.
IT WILL CAUSE THE DRIVE CLUTCH
TO BIND. SHOULD THIS OCCUR, THE
CLUTCH MAY FAIL TO ENGAGE
RAPIDLY.
Step: 5. Retighten the motor mounting bolts and
the machine will be ready to run.
Step: 6. Turn the machine on and run several
sheets.
Step: 7. Note the position of the cut and adjust
the cut--off accordingly.
Step: 8. If the above setting does not give the
proper cut, see Section 3.3.5 Adjusting
the Cut--Off Guide Finger.
