SECTION 5: DISPENSER OPERATION

The explanations given in the menus listed in this section are intended for use by the operator, manager, or service technician.

HOW TO POWER UP THE DISPENSER

WARNING:
DANGER:
A Power Switch is used to apply or to remove power from the dispenser. When the switch is in the off position, main power is removed
from the electronic circuit board. Note: When the power switch is turned off, the displays in the dispenser remain illuminated for 30
seconds with power from the 12-volt battery. To turn off the battery power press the battery kill button.
BATTERY KILL BUTTON
A push button switch is used to kill the battery backup if desired. This switch can be used to override the 30-second battery if primary
power is lost at the dispenser, or if incoming power drops below 74 volts AC. This switch stays in the up position by a spring.
To "kill" power to the dispenser press down quickly and release. Once the switch is closed, and the display goes blank, release the switch.
Note: After powering the dispenser off wait, no less than five seconds before pressing the battery disconnect switch.

HOW TO PROGRAM THE DISPENSER

NOTE:
Make sure the dispenser power is ON and the pump handles are in the OFF position prior to entering Manager's
(programming) modes.
When a control console is used, numerous functions can be programmed and are downloaded to the dispenser from the console. Access
to dispenser totals, pricing information, diagnostic information, and programming modes can be accessed through use of the manager's
keypad or the optional Local Preset keypad. If the dispenser was ordered with the Local Preset option, you will use the factory installed
Local Preset keypad to program the dispenser. Refer to the 719 Technical and Dispenser Programming Manual for detailed programming
information.
The dispenser has a variety of Menu Codes that are access by using the Manager's Keypad or the Local Preset Keypad. Refer to the 719
Technical and Dispenser Programming Manual for detailed manager's mode instructions.
HOW TO PROGRAM THE DISPENSER USING THE M ANAGER'S KEYPAD OR THE OPTIONAL LOCAL PRESET KEYPAD
One Manager's keypad is provided with each dispenser and attached to the 719 CPU cover located in the electronics head. Note: The
keypad is typically disconnected from the system during normal operation.

Use the provided multi-colored wire harness (in plastic bag) located on the inside of the electronic enclosure and connect it to the
connector on the manager's keypad.

Connect the other end of the multi-colored wire harness to connector J11 on the 719 CPU board. Note: When using the optional
Local Preset Keypad the Mode, Enter, +/- (plus minus) buttons are not shown on the overlay, but you will be able to feel them.

Press the Enter and

Press 1 to program Side 1 or Press 2 to program Side 2 (if applicable) and press Enter. Once the Enter button is pressed, the display
will show "Code 00".

Once you are in the Manager's Mode, you can program the dispenser as normal or run diagnostics.

To exit a Manager's Mode press the Cancel button until the display returns to the normal sales display.
TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK, MAKE SURE THE CURRENT IS OFF AT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER(S) AND THE
BREAKER IS LOCKED OUT BEFORE DOING ANY REPAIRS OR MAINTENANCE TO THE DISPENSER.
INCOMING AC POWER AT TS2 WILL REMAIN ACTIVE IF THE MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER(S) ARE NOT TURNED
OFF.
button simultaneously. After a few seconds, press the Enter button. The display will show "Enter Side 1".
