(6) Dent must be within a single frame/stringer bay. If dent spans a stiffening element, EDR process cannot be used.
(7) If there is more than a single dent in a frame/stringer bay, contact Cessna Citation Customer Support for disposition
and use of EDR process.

Procedure
A.
General.
(1) Attach the airplane ground connection point to an approved airplane earth ground prior to performing the dent
removal procedure.
(2) Detailed parts, subassemblies, and assemblies not attached to the airplane are to be provided with an approved
earth ground.
B.
Preparation of Dented Surface Prior to Dent Removal.
(1) Dented surfaces with damaged paint/primer:
(a) Remove paint and/or primer from the dent and a minimum of 2 inches (51 mm) beyond the periphery of the
dented area. Refer to Maintenance Manual Chapter 20, Exterior Finish - Cleaning/Painting
(2) Dented surfaces with undamaged paint:
(a) Do not remove intact paint for the dent removal process.
(3) Blended surfaces:
(a) Check the thickness of all surfaces exhibiting evidence of blending in accordance with standard inspection
practice. The readings must be within blueprint tolerance. If thickness is less than blueprint, contact Cessna
Citation Customer Support for disposition, prior to continuation of procedure.
(4) Pre-Process Inspections:
(a) Perform tap testing on all bonded honeycomb structures to insure no disbond between the face sheet and
metallic core exists. Refer to Chapter 51, Coin Tap Inspection.
(b) Surface Eddy current NDI skin for cracking; dent(s) must be smooth and free of sharp creases, gouges and
cracks. Refer to NDT Manual Part 6. Eddy Current Surface Techniques - General.
(5) Cleaning:
(a) Wipe clean the surfaces with 1,1,1-Trichloroethane or other approved solvent. Wipe out excess solvent with dry
wipers.
(6) Marking
(a) Mark the outer periphery of the dent as the starting location with a red wax-base crayon.
C. Repair
(1) Protective and Alignment Targeting Masking.
(a) Place solid Mylar plastic film target consisting of two 6.50 inch square x 0.005 inch thick (165 x 0.127 mm) films
with targeting cross hairs at the marked starting location with the intersection of the cross hairs 50 percent over
the dent and 50 percent over the undamaged metal.
