Backup battery features (overview)

In the event of a power outage, a backup battery can supply power to your hub or to another connected
device. You can configure the system to call a pre-programmed phone number in the event of a power
outage, so that you can be alerted to the situation.
Note:
R Backup batteries can supply power to their connected devices without being registered to the hub,
however, in order to receive power outage notifications, you must register the backup battery to the
hub.

Configuring power outage notifications

If you have more than one backup battery, these settings are applied to all backup batteries.
1
From the [Home Network] app home screen, tap [Settings].
2
Tap [Device Profiles].
3
Tap [Backup Battery].
4
Tap [Power Outage Notification].
5
Turn on the [Notification Call] switch.
6
Tap [Outage Wait Time], select the desired setting, and then tap [OK].
R This setting determines the amount of time that passes after a power outage occurs before the
backup battery triggers a power outage notification.
7
Tap the desired memory location (1–5).
R When the system calls a phone number, it calls the phone number assigned to the lowest memory
location. If the called party does not answer or does not press
number assigned to the next memory location.
R [None] is displayed for numbers with no phone number assigned to them.
8
Specify the party to be called by entering the desired name and then tap [OK]. Repeat this step and
enter the desired phone number.
R You can also select a contact that is stored in your mobile device by tapping [Add from Contacts
List].
R These settings are shared with the alert by phone call feature ( "Alert by phone call", Page 47).
