SERVICING & MAINTENANCE

SERVICING

Servicing should be carried out a least once a year by a competent person. Failure to do so will
void the appliance warranty.
Ensure that the fire is turned off and it is cool.
The service should include a visual inspection of the chimney and fire opening for any debris.
All ceramic components should be inspected and if necessary, should be replaced with a genuine
full set.
Check that the slots in the ceramic burner are free from soot and debris.
Check that the electrode spark, pilot slot and air hole are free from soot and debris.
Ensure that all ceramics components are correctly replaced as per the method in this manual.
After servicing, always perform test for gas soundness and spillage.

REMOVING THE BURNER ASSEMBLY

Remove the fascia from the fire. For full instructions
on how to do this, consult the manual that came
with the fascia.
Close the isolating valve in the inlet 'T' connector
and disconnect the burner.
If the appliance features a slide control mechanism
then disconnect the control linkage first (see Fig. 14).

Carefully remove the individual coals, followed by
the ceramic matrix and then finally the one-piece
ceramic front coals.
Remove the two screws fixing the burner tray to the firebox (see Fig. 1 on page 6 For more
details). Gently pull out the burner tray (including the ceramic burner).
To refit the burner and ceramic components, consult pages 8 - 11.
