SPILLAGE TEST

1
Close all of the doors and window in the room of
the appliance.
2
Ignite the appliance and set to 'HI' position.
3
After 5 minutes hold a smoke match inside the fire.
This should be positioned centrally, just underneath
the convection channel at the top of the fire. See
Fig. 13. In a successful installation all of the smoke
should be drawn directly into the flue. If in doubt,
wait a further 10 minutes and repeat the test.
4
If spillage still occurs and the flue restrictor is
fitted then wait for the fire to cool, remove it
and perform the spillage test again.
5
If spillage still occurs then there may be a problem with the flue. Disconnect the appliance
and seek expert advice.
6
If the spillage test is successful then open all internal doors in the room. Keep all external
doors and windows closed. Re-test again for spillage as instructed above. If there's an
extractor fan in the vicinity of the appliance then test again with the extractor fan turned on
and all interconnecting doors open.
