INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS GENERAL INSTALLATION CONDITIONS In the United Kingdom it is law that all gas appliances are fitted by a competent person in accordance with the most up to date edition of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations. Failure to install the appliance correctly could lead to prosecution. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS PREPARATION OF THE FIREPLACE OPENING The appliance must be installed mounted on a non-combustible hearth. It must not be installed directly on any combustible material. The hearth must be at least 12mm thick with a periphery thickness of at least 50mm. It should be at least 700mm wide and project at least 300mm for- wards from the fire opening.

APPLIANCE INSTALLATION INSTALLING THE FIREBOX There are two options of fixing the firebox into the fire opening/fireplace surround. Option 1 - Front Fixing Offer the firebox into the opening ensuring that the supply pipe is correctly positioned. When the firebox is in the FIXING LOCATIONS intended position of installation make a mark through the holes indicated on Fig.
APPLIANCE INSTALLATION Do not over tighten the cables. Check that there are no gaps around the foam strips. Using the sealing tape supplied, create a seal between the bottom face of the firebox and the fireplace floor. Reposition the burner and secure with the two screws previously removed.

If the appliance uses a slider control then reconnect the slider arm to the gas control pivot. FASCIA This appliance can be used with several different Vision Fires fireframes or frets. For full instructions on how to fit them please refer to the guide that is supplied with them.
APPLIANCE INSTALLATION LIGHTING THE APPLIANCE Manual Control Open the gas isolation valve. Push the control knob and turn fully anti clockwise to the position marked ‘P’ for Pilot. Hold the control knob here until the pilot lights. Hold for a further 10 seconds to allow a stable flame.
APPLIANCE INSTALLATION SPILLAGE TEST Close all of the doors and window in the room of the appliance. Ignite the appliance and set to ‘HI’ position. After 5 minutes hold a smoke match inside the fire. This should be positioned centrally, just underneath the convection channel at the top of the fire.
SERVICING & MAINTENANCE SERVICING Servicing should be carried out a least once a year by a competent person. Failure to do so will void the appliance warranty. Ensure that the fire is turned off and it is cool. The service should include a visual inspection of the chimney and fire opening for any debris. All ceramic components should be inspected and if necessary, should be replaced with a genuine full set.

USER GUIDE If the appliance is fitted to a wall without a fire surround then any wall covering must be non com- bustible. Soft wall coverings such as wallpaper, blown vinyl are easily affected by heat and shouldn't be used unless a fire surround is fitted. Do not add extra ceramic pieces to the appliance as this can result in incorrect combustion.
