Install the Options
To install a printer, a modem, or expansion box cables, follow the instructions ^
in this section under the option you are installing. The options can be installed
in any order; however, it is easier to install the expansion box(es) last.
If you order the memory module or expansion adapter after the initial
shipment, contact your service representative to install those items.
Installing a Printer or Plotter
This section describes how to install the following DIGITAL printers: the
LN03, LN03 PLUS, and LN03R laser printers, the LCGOl and LJ250/252
color printers, the LA210, LAIOO, LA75, and LA50 dot matrix printers, and
the LVP16 color plotter.
Cables are required to connect a printer or plotter to the VAXstation 2000. You
must order a cable in addition to the printer or plotter. Most printers require
the BCC05 cable; however, the LA75 printer requires the DECconnect office
cable (part no. BC16E) and the 9-pin printer port adapter (part no. H8571B).
The LJ250/252 printer requires the BC19M cable and comes with a modified
modular jack (MMJ) adapter for workstations using DECconnect. The LVP16
plotter requires the BCC19-15 cable for a direct connection or a BCC24-05 ^
cable for an eavesdrop connection. Contact your sales representative if you • ^
did not already order these items.
Installation Procedures
1. Unpack and set up the printer or plotter according to instructions that
are shipped with the printer or plotter.
2. Make sure that the on-off switches for the printer or plotter and the
VAXstation 2000 system unit are set to 0 (off).
