storage medium
Any device capable of recording information; for example, a diskette.
store
To enter data into a storage device, such as a disk, or into memory.
stylus
A perJike device that draws on the tablet's surface and together function as
a pointing device. (See pointing device and tablet.)
system
A combination of system hardware, software, and peripheral devices that
performs specific processing operations.
system image
The image that is read into memory from disk when the system is started up
(booted).
system management tasks
Tasks performed by an assigned person to operate and maintain the system.
That person is usually the system manager.
tablet

An absolute-positioning input device composed of a flat-surfaced digitizing
tablet, a puck, and a stylus. The tablet is a drawing surface. The puck and
stylus are pointing devices that move the cursor on the monitor screen, draw
graphics, and make selections from the menu.
tape drive
A device that contains mechanical components and holds, turns, reads, and
writes on magnetic tape.
T-connector
Connector used to join Thin Wire Ethernet cable sections. The connector also
has a connector that is attached directly to a station.
terminal
An input/output device that allows you to communicate with the system.
Terminals are divided into two categories: video and hard-copy.
terminator
A special connector used on one or both ends of an Ethernet segment that
provides the 50-ohm termination resistance needed for the cable.
