The Windows Client

Problem
Windows Client won't
connect to the CS1708i /
CS1716i.
Remote mouse pointer is
out of sync.
Part of remote window is off
my monitor.
My antivirus program
reports that there is a trojan
after I access the CS1708i /
CS1716i with my browser
and then open the Windows
Client Viewer.

DirectX 8.0 or higher must be installed on your computer.
1. Use the AutoSync feature (see Video Settings,
page 73), to sync the local and remote monitors.
2. If that doesn't resolve the problem, use the
Adjust Mouse feature (see Adjust Mouse, page 67) to
bring them back in sync.
3. If the two methods described above fail to resolve the
problem, use the Toggle Mouse Display function (see
page 67).
Use the AutoSync feature (see Video Settings, page 73)
to synchronize the local and remote monitors.
The Windows Client Viewer uses and ActiveX plugin
(windows.ocx) that some antivirus programs mistakenly
see as a virus or trojan. We have tested our firmware
extensively and found no evidence of a virus or trojan.
You can add the plugin to your antivirus program's White
List and use the Viewer safely. If you are reluctant to use
the Windows Client Viewer, however, you can simply use
the Java Client Viewer, instead.
1. Java JRE 6 or higher must be installed on your computer.
2. Make sure to include the correct login string when you specify
the CS1708i / CS1716i's IP address (see Login String,
page 130).
3. Close the Java Client, reopen it, and try again.
Java doesn't support the Windows Menu key.
Exit the program and start again.
When entering national language characters, if your local
keyboard is set to a non-English national language layout, you
must set the remote computer's keyboard layout to English.
