Change the Fuel Lines

Maintaining the fuel lines in good condition is
essential to safe operation and good engine
performance. Failure to detect a worn, cracked or
leaking fuel line may cause an unsafe operating
condition.
Engine fuels are combustible.
Replace the fuel lines in an open,
well-ventilated area away from
heaters, sparks, flames and
lighted tobacco. Always have an
approved fire extinguisher within
easy reach.
Perform this procedure with the
engine off.
1 Close the manual fuel shutoff valve, located
next to the fuel tank.
2 Remove and replace the fuel line hoses and
clamps according to the following illustrations:
Fuel may be expelled under
pressure. Wrap a cloth around
fuel hoses to absorb leaking fuel
before disconnecting them.
