Fuel Tank

How to Remove the Fuel Tank
Explosion hazard. Engine fuels
are combustible. Remove the fuel
tank in an open, well-ventilated
area away from heaters, sparks,
flames and lighted tobacco.
Always have an approved fire
extinguisher within easy reach.
Explosion hazard. When
transferring fuel, connect a
grounding wire between the
machine and pump or container.
1 Turn the manual fuel shutoff valve to the
position.
CLOSED
2 Gasoline/LPG models: Disconnect, drain and
plug the fuel hose.
Deutz Diesel models: Disconnect, drain and
plug the supply and return fuel lines. Cap the
fuel return fitting on the fuel tank.
3 Remove the mounting fasteners from the
bottom of the tank.
4 Use an appropriate lifting device to remove the
tank from the machine.
Clean the fuel tank and inspect
for rust and corrosion before
installing.
