Glitches
Under certain circumstances Escape"G", the Double-Strike mode seems to cause
"de-initialization", so should be avoided. Escape"E", the Emphasized mode seems
to work alright, but of course we cannot use it with compressed characters.
A sign of Printer problems is the " I / O E R R O R " message. This might mean the
Printer has been "de-initialized" and the above procedure will have to be
repeated.
GRAPHICS
1. The graphics characters are not identical. The Model II has only 32 graphic
characters, compared with the Model Ps 64. Model II graphics are not a cut-
down version of Model I, but include many new characters. This eliminates
the possibility of using a "screen d u m p " .
Remember, the Printer uses the graphics set built into the Printer, not the
computer. A graphics program written for Model I will work just fine on the
Model II as long as all graphics characters are called up by ASCII number.
2. The ASCII numbers assigned to graphics are not the same. Model II goes
from 128 to 159. You will have to change Model I ASCII numbers to match
similiar characters in the Model II set. The graphics part of the program in
Chapter 2 will not RUN, but the one in Chapter 7 will.
