1-3
ON
Auto LF Switch. This switch con-
trols whether or not a line feed (LF) is automatically added each time the print
buffer fills with data. Activated when switch is OFF.
Switch #2-3 is the "master" switch. If it is ON, a LF is added to every CR when
the print buffer is full. If it is OFF, each LF must be deliberately sent by
software, or added automatically by setting switch 1-2 or 1-3 to OFF.
EXAMPLE: Assume 2-3 is O F F : IF 1-3 & 1-2 are O F F , when the print buffer is
full, a LF is automatically added. If 1-3 is ON, when the print buffer is full, only
the CR is recognized and the print head overprints what is already on paper.
If using a Radio Shack cable, switches 1-3, 1-2 & 2-3 are ALL overridden and LF
is automatically added to every CR. There is no way to separate them,
1-2
ON
Automatic CR Switch. Similar to
1-3, except, if 1-2 is ON, when CR is sent no LF is added. It prints over what is
already on the paper.
1-1
ON
Blank. Not hooked to anything.
2-4

When OFF, gives us access to all
MX-80 capabilities. None are locked out. Shifts TRS-80 graphic codes up by +32
ASCII positions.
When ON, Printer responds to standard TRS-80 ASCII graphics numbers, but
severely restricts Printer's response to control codes.

When OFF, LF must be provided via software as needed, or via setting of switches
1-2 & 1-3.
