Apply a medical-grade, water-soluble lubricant to the insertion section and
balloon.
2.
Place the mouthpiece between the patient's teeth or gums, with the outer
flange on the outside of the patient's mouth.
3.
Insert the distal end of the endoscope through the opening of the
mouthpiece, then from the mouth to the pharynx, while viewing the
endoscopic image.
Avoid forcible or excessive angulation, as this imposes load
on the wire controlling the bending section and may cause
stretching or tearing of the wire, which could impair the
function of the bending section.
Operate the angulation control lever as necessary to guide the distal end for
insertion and observation.
