Chapter 3 Preparation and Inspection Preparation and Inspection of the Endoscope Clean and disinfect or sterilize the endoscope as described in the “OLYMPUS ENF/LF ENDOSCOPE REPROCESSING MANUAL”. Chapter 4 Operation Observation With the Light Source • Only use the Olympus Light Guide Cable (WA03200A/WA03202A/A03200A/A3090/A3091/A3093/ A3290/A3291/A3293) with these instruments. If the another light guide cable is used, the Control Section of the endoscope may be hot and burns can be caused.

Before withdrawing the endoscope, set the Angulation Control Lever in the neutral position. Slowly withdraw the endoscope while observing the endoscopic image. Bronchoalveolar Lavage (LF-TP Only) When performing Bronchoalveolar Lavage, the BAL Kit or a syringe can be used. The syringe can be attached to the Single-use Biopsy Valve (MAJ-210) or Biopsy Valve (MD-495).

Securely insert a syringe filled with lavage fluid (e.g. saline) into the Slit of the Biopsy Valve and press the plunger to feed lavage fluid (see Figure 4.8).
