Attaching accessories to the endoscope

Attaching the single-use suction valve (MAJ-209) and the
suction valve (MAJ-207)

Firmly attach the suction valve to the instrument channel
port. If the suction valve is attached improperly, with a gap
between the base of the suction valve and the top of the
suction cylinder, the suction valve may be detached from the
endoscope and patient debris may leak or spray from the
gap, posing an infection-control risk.
The suction valve does not require lubrication. Lubricants can
cause swelling of the valves' seals, which will impair the
valve function.
1.
Align the arm of the suction valve with the white mark on the endoscope and
insert the suction valve into the suction cylinder (see Figure 3.10).
2.
Press down on the top of the suction valve with both of your thumbs until it
"clicks" into place (see Figure 3.10).
