Removal of the balloon

Do not hold the ultrasonic transducer when holding the
insertion section. Transducer damage can result and/or the
ultrasonic image will be abnormal.
Do not squeeze the ultrasonic transducer forcefully.
Transducer damage can result and/or the ultrasonic image
will be abnormal.
Do not remove the balloon with equipment such as forceps,
needle holder, or hemostat that may scratch the surface of
ultrasonic transducer. Doing so could damage the ultrasonic
transducer and/or cause the ultrasonic image to be
abnormal.
Do not pinch the ultrasonic transducer surface and balloon
together when removing the balloon. Doing so could damage
the ultrasonic transducer and/or cause the ultrasonic image
to be abnormal.
Picking up the balloon with a clean lint-free cloth makes it
easier to remove the balloon.
1.
Using a clean lint-free cloth, gently wipe and dry the balloon surface.
2.
Roll up the rear end of the balloon with your fingers (see Figure 4.5).
3.
Gently detach the front band from the balloon attachment groove (see
Figure 4.6).

After the removal of the balloon, confirm that the surface of the ultrasonic
transducer is free from scratches. In case the ultrasonic transducer surface
is scratched, stop using the instrument and contact Olympus.
