Performing the EISA configuration for the DAC
Detailed information on the EISA configuration program is provided in the

associated User's Manual.
Start the EISA configuration program.

You should make the following settings:

delayed drive switch on with six second spacing

Fast SCSI bus
−
You will find further settings in the User's Manual for the DAC.
Save the new settings.

Exit the EISA configuration program.
Ê
Creating a DOS system diskette for the DAC configuration
Create a DOS system disk with a minimum of system files.

Ê
Copy all the files from the DACCFG directory on the original disk Configuration
and Utilities onto the DOS system disk.
Keep the original disk in a safe place.

Performing DAC configuration
The procedure described only roughly in places below is described in

detail in the User's Manual for the Disk Array Controller.
Insert the newly created DOS system disk in the floppy disk drive and reboot

the server.
Ê
Start the DAC configuration program DACCF from the disk.
Set the Fault Management to Enabled.
Ê
(Main menu --> Advance Functions --> Hardware Parameters).
Divide the hard disks into physical packs.
Ê
Create one or more system drives.
Ê
Initialize the system drives.
