Installing and removing drives

In the server there is space for a total of four accessible drives (three 5 1/4-inch
drives and one 3 1/2-inch drive) and five non-accessible 3 1/2-inch drives with a
bay height of one inch, or three non-accessible 3 1/2-inch drives with a bay height
of 1.6 inches. A 3 1/2 inch floppy disk drive is fitted as standard.
SCSI drives
Depending on the SCSI controller used, ultra SCSI or ultra-wide SCSI hard disk
drives can be employed. However, you should always use the SCSI controller type
suitable for the particular SCSI controller.
Note that:
Each SCSI device must be assigned its own SCSI-ID.
A device with activated or connected terminating resistors must always be
connected at the end of an SCSI line.
The terminating resistor may not be activated or attached on any of the
devices connected to the middle of a SCSI cable.
IDE drives
The system BIOS supports four IDE drives, regardless of whether the system
board has one or two IDE connectors.
If the system board only has one IDE connector, you can only operate the server
with two IDE drives.
If you install or remove an IDE drive, you must amend the relevant entry for the
drive in the BIOS Setup.
