CHECK D ETERGENT
SiPHONiNG T UBE
Examinethe filter on the detergenttube and clean if clogged. The
tube should fit tightly on the barbed fitting. Examinethe tube for
leaks or tears. Replacethe filter or tube if either is damaged.
CHECK S PRAY GUN
Examinethe hose connectionto the spray gun and make sure it is
secure. Test the trigger by pressing the trigger, it "springs back"
into place when you releaseit. Replacespray gun immediately if
it fails to "spring back".
NOZZLE MAINTENANCE
A pulsing sensation felt while squeezing the spray gun trigger
may be caused by excessivepump pressure. The principal cause
of excessive pump pressure is a nozzle clogged or restricted
with foreign materials, such as dirt, etc. To correct the problem,
immediately cleanthe nozzlefollowing these instructions:
1. Shut off engine and turn off water supply.
2. ALWAYSpoint spray gun in a safe direction, squeeze spray
gun trigger to releaseretainedhigh water pressure.
The high pressurestream of water thatthis equipment
producescan cutthroughskin and its underlying
tissues,leadingto seriousinjuryand possible
amputation. S pray gun traps high water pressure, even
when engine is stoppedand water is disconnected,
which can causeinjury.
* Keephighpressure hoseconnected t o pumpandspraygunwhile
systemis pressurized.
* ALWAYS point spraygun in safe direction, and squeeze spray
gun triggerto release highpressure everytime you stop engine.
Engage triggerlockwhennot in use.
3. Removenozzlefrom end of nozzleextension.
4. Use a small paperclip to free anyforeign material clogging or
restricting nozzle(Figure28).

7. Reinstallnozzleinto lance.
8. Reconnectlanceto spray gun.
9. Make sure garden hose is connected to pump water inlet.
Checkthat high pressurehose is connectedto spray gun and
pump. Turn on water.
10. Start enginefollowing instructions How to Start Your Power
Washer.
11. Test power washer by operating with each quick connect
nozzle.

ENGINE OILRECOMMENDATIONS
We recommendthe useof high-quality detergentoils acceptableif
classifiedfor service SF,SG,SH, SJ or higher.DONOTuse special
additives.
Outdoor temperatures determine the proper oil viscosity for the
engine. Use the chart to select the best viscosity for the outdoor
temperaturerange expected.
5. Removelancefrom spray gun.
6. Using a garden hose, remove additional debris by back
flushing water through lance (Figure29). Back flush between
30 to 60 seconds.

* Below 50°F (10°C) the use of SAE 30 will result in hard starting.
** Above 80°F (27°C) the use of 10W30 may cause increased oil consumption.
Check oil level more frequently.
