NOTE:
Synthetic oil meetingiLSACGF-2, API certificationmark
and API servicesymbolwith "SJ/CF ENERGY CONSERVING"
or higher, is an acceptable oil at all temperatures.Use of
syntheticoil doesnot alter requiredoil changeintervals.
NOTE:
The engine is equippedwith an "0il Alert System". This
systemwill automatically stopthe engine before the oil level
falls below a safe limit. To avoidthe inconvenience of an
unexpected shutdown, a lways checkthe engine oil level before
startup.
CHECK OILLEVEL
Oil level should be checked prior to each use or at least every 8
hours of operation.Keep oil level maintained.
1. Make sure powerwasher is on a levelsurface.
2. Cleanareaaround oil fill and wipe dipstick clean removeoil fill
cap (Figure30).
3. Verify oil is at the proper level on the dipstick.
4. Insert the dipstick into filler neck but do not screw it in.
5. Replaceand tighten oil fill cap.
ADDING ENGINE OIL
1. Make sure powerwasher is on a levelsurface.
2. Checkoil level as described in CheckingOil Level.
3. If needed,slowly pour oil into oil fill opening until the proper
level on the dipstick is reached(Figure30).
4. Insert the dipstick into filler neck but do not screw it in.
5. If levelis tow,fill to the upper marks on the dipstick.
6. Replaceand tighten oil fill cap.
CHANG/NG ENG/NEOIL
If you are usingyour power washer under extremelydirty or dusty
conditions, or in extremelyhot weather,changethe oil more often.
ACAUTION!

motoroil.
• Usedmotoroil hasbeenshownto causeskin cancerin certain
laboratory animals.
• Thoroughly w ashexposed areaswith soapandwater.

Changeoil while engine is still warm from running, as follows:
1. Make sure unit is on a levelsurface.
2. Disconnectthe spark plug wire from the spark plug and place
the wire where it cannot contact spark plug.
3. Cleanarea around oil drain plug (A) (Figure30). The oil drain
plug is located at base of engine,opposite carburetor.

4. Removeoil fill cap (Figure31).
5. Removeoil drain plug and drain oil completely into a suitable
container.
6. Reinstalloil drain plug and tighten securely.
7. Slowly pour oil (about 20 oz.) into oil fill openingto the proper
level on the dipstick. DONOT overfill.
8. Reinstalloil fill cap. Fingertighten cap securely.
9. Wipe up any spilled oil.
10. Properly dispose of oil in an accordance with all local
regulations.

SERVICE A IRCLEANER
Yourenginewill not run properly and may be damagedif you run it
with a dirty air cleaner.Service more often if operatingunder dirty
or dusty conditions.
To servicethe air cleaner,follow these steps:
1. Loosen screw and remove cover (Figure32).
2. Carefullyremovefilter assembly.
3. Removefoam filter
4. To cleancartridge, gently tap on a flat surface.
5. Reinstallfoam filter.
6. Reinstallclean or new cartridge assembly.
7. Install cover and tighten screw securely.
