Precautions - heavy equipment
Warning: Inappropriate handling of NetBackup components can result in serious
injury, equipment damage, or both. A NetBackup 5230 appliance weighs 52 lbs
(23.58 kg), with disks installed. A Symantec Storage Shelf weighs about 71.7 lbs
(32.5 kg) with disks installed. Use appropriate practices, techniques, and tools when
handling these components.
Please comply with local regulations about moving heavy items. At least two people
are required to move and install the devices.
The heaviest devices in any equipment rack should be installed in the bottom of
the rack. If heavy devices are installed at the top of the rack, the rack may tip over.
Injury to personnel and damage to equipment is very possible. The Symantec
