3.2 Inspeetion
(1)
Injeetion pressure (valve opening pressure)
(a) Install the injeetion nozzle on the tester.
Slowly operate the tester handle fuIl strokes
to bleed (remove) air from the pipe and nozzle.
(b) Make a slow inerease in pressure by operating
the tester handle at a speed of more than one
stroke per seeond while observing the pressure
gage.
(e) The pressure gage reading wil! slowly
inerease and, when the nozzle starts
discharging fuel, it will go down fast. Take
the gage reading right then as the injeetion
pressure.

injeetion pressure for eaeh engine .

When testing the injeetion nozzle, keep its tip
pointed away from the operator. Fuel from the
orifiees in the tip of the nozzle is under high
pressure and ean eause injury to the operator.
