(b) Install the oil ring with the joint of the coil
spring 180 0 apart from those of the ring gap.
(8) Preparation before installing pistons
(a) Lay the crankcase on its side
(b) Clean the cylinder bores with a clean rag and
apply engine oil to the bore surfaces.
(c) Put the connecting rod cap bolts in the big
end of the connecting rad so that the flats of
their heads fit to the rod properly.
(d) Install the upper half of the connecting rod
bearing to the big end of the connecting rad,
making sure the locating lug fits into the notch
in the rad. Apply engine oil to the bearing.
