8.1 What can I do if my phone can't detect the inserted
SIM card?
1. Use standard nano-SIM cards only. If you are not using a standard nano-SIM card, back up
contacts on the SIM card and replace the SIM card with a standard one at a service counter.
Cut SIM cards may fail to be read and damage the card tray.
2. Check that your phone model, the SIM card carrier, and the dual card settings are correct.
3. You need to restart your phone after you insert a SIM card into it.
4. If the problem persists after you restart your phone, back up important data and restore your
phone to its factory settings. Then re-insert the SIM card and check whether it can be
detected.
5. Check that your SIM card is working properly and can be detected on another phone.
6. If the problem persists, the card tray may be damaged or other problems exist. Take your
phone to an authorized Huawei service center.
8.2 Why does my phone read the contacts from the SIM
card slowly?
The reading speed of the contacts on the SIM card is affected by the SIM card performance
and the number of contacts. Generally, the reading time increases with the number of contacts.
If you are using a 4G card that supports multiple numbers for one contact, the reading speed
will be slow too.
8.3 Why can't a non-standard SIM card be inserted into the
card tray?
Your phone's SIM card thickness is designed based on the industry standards. Non-standard
cards can't be inserted into the card tray because they may damage the card tray. You are
suggested to use a standard SIM card. Do not use card tray adapters.
