③ Screw one M8 bolt into the intermediate gear shaft to pull out the shaft. Take cautions to
prevent the falloff of intermediate gear and disassemble the intermediate gear along with idler
shaft.
4.5.6.3 Inspection and Maintenance of Intermediate Gear
① Check whether the threads of the fixing bolts are in good condition;
② Check whether individual gears are subject to spalling of tooth surface or tooth flank breakage,
and the load bearing surface of the bolt is crushed, and the tapped holes or through holes on the
gear are deformed;
③ Check for abnormal wear between intermediate gear shaft and intermediate gear bushing and
between shaft and intermediate gear shaft. Check whether the oil holes are clogged by
contaminants or foreign matters.
4.5.6.4 Intermediate Gear Assembly Procedures
① Assemble the front wall cap subassembly onto the cylinder block as per specification.
② Assemble the intermediate gear subassembly: Assemble the intermediate gear shaft and
intermediate gear subassembly and apply an appropriate amount of engine oil to the
intermediate gear shaft.
③ Place the intermediate gear subassembly into front wall cap and align and insert it into the
oiling shaft.
④ Place and align the fender and tighten it by bolts to 65~70N.m.
⑤ After the fixing of gears, rotate the gears by hand and check for presence of play and
stagnation.
