2.2 After the upper bearing is assembled, it shall be aligned to the oil hole and oil groove on
the cylinder body, and the bearing deviating from the oil hole by 1/5-1/4 shall not be
assembled; the upper bearing shall be completely fitting to the bottom hole of cylinder
body main bearing.
3. Apply appropriate quantity of clean lubricating oil onto the inner surface of the upper
bearing shell.
4. Lift the crankshaft, and purge the oil port with compressed air, and wipe clean the main
bearing journal and connecting rod journal with a towel, and then lightly lower them into
the cylinder block. In this process, it is required that the crankshaft be free from collision.
5. Wipe clean the upper thrust halfring and press it into the cylinder block. The oil groove of
the upper thrust halfring should be outward (toward the crankshaft).
6. Press in the lower main bushing, assemble the main bearing cap, and assemble the lower
thrust plate (with the oil groove facing towards the crankshaft end).
7. Ensure that the oil seal is level without distortion or deformation and place the oil seal
levelly into the seal ring groove of the cylinder block lower plane by special tooling. While
pressing in the framework oil seal, ensure that the framework oil seal is free of inclination
and unevenness and the lips of oil seal fit well with the journal.
8. Apply clean lubricating oil to the bolt-supporting plane of the main bearing cap and the
threads of the main bearing bolts. Slightly tighten the main bearing bolts. Pre-tighten all
the main bearing bolts in the sequence as shown in Figure 4.
Tighten 10 M14-10.9 bolts from the middle main bearing uniformly to two sides by two
steps. Tighten to 70N.m for the 1st step and rotate the bolts for 90º±4º for the 2nd step.
Complete assembling of the crankshaft.
