Description of Front Features

1. Mayo Tray
Stainless steel tray holding up to 7 pounds (13.5 kg) of veterinary surgical instruments and supplies.
2. Touch Screen Control Panel/Display
Electronic interface that makes it easy to set parameters and monitor performance of the anesthesia
system. See Figure 1-5.
3. Isoflurane Filler Port
Port at which the Isoflurane anesthetic agent is added to the system Isoflurane reservoir. The cap is
opened by turning counterclockwise and tightened by turning clockwise.
4. Fresh Gas Connector
For rebreathing circuit applications, a 15 mm tapered outlet port that routes the fresh gas mixture to
the inspiratory port. For non-rebreathing applications, the male 15 mm connector is removed and the
15 mm male connector of the non-rebreathing circuit is connected.
5. Inspiration Valve Assembly
Contains a nickel-plated brass valve that utilizes a flutter disk to control the flow of gases within the
patient inspiration breathing circuit.
6. Inspiration Valve Port
Port to which the inspiration breathing hose circuit is connected.
7. Expiration Valve Assembly
Contains a nickel-plated brass valve that utilizes a flutter disk to control the flow of gases within the
patient expiration breathing circuit.
8. Expiration Valve Port
Port to which the expiration breathing hose circuit is connected.
9. Absorber Canister Assembly
The 1,030 cc absorber canister is filled with a granular carbon dioxide (CO
as Litholyme®. The absorber subsystem uses a coaxial gas flow path to provide for more efficient use
of absorbent, while reducing flow resistance. The chemical reaction that takes place in the canister
creates heat and humidity that aids in the delivery of anesthesia to the patient.
10. Sevoflurane Filler Port
Port at which the Sevoflurane anesthetic agent is added to the system Sevoflurane reservoir. The cap
is opened by turning counterclockwise and tightened by turning clockwise.
11. Pop Off Valve
A pressure relief valve that vents the breathing circuit when the pressure exceeds the pressure set
using the knob at the top of the valve. The valve is vented to the facility scavenging system.
