AC/DC Voltage Measurement - Safety Check

As soon as the switch is set to one of the MΩ positions, the instrument
measures the voltage between its + and - terminals. The value of this volt-
age is displayed (0 to 600V
If the voltage present is less than 25V, the insulation can be
tested, but the lower the test voltage the greater the possibility of
error.
If the voltage is greater than 25V,
Pressing the yellow button will only cause the buzzer to turn on
and the
These warnings only end if the voltage falls below 25V (disconnection of
the leads or removal of the voltage) or if the yellow button is released or,
naturally, if you turn off the instrument by returning the switch to the OFF
position.
WARNING: If the voltage detected is above 600V (outside measurement
range), OL will appear on the digital display.

Insulation Resistance Testing

If there is not a dangerous voltage (see above), the user can then measure
the insulation by pressing the yellow button. The high voltage is then gener-
ated between the terminals (marked + and -). The value of the measure-
ment is shown on the logarithmic scale of the bargraph and on the digital
display, with the corresponding MΩ or GΩ symbol. As soon as the yellow
button is released, the instrument returns to voltage measurement mode.
WARNING: If the voltage generated may be dangerous,
The instrument indicates if the value measured is outside its mea-
surement range. If the measured insulation resistance is greater than
400MΩ (1039), 2 or 20GΩ (1035), the OL symbol is displayed on the dig-
ital display instead of a value. When the measurement is greater than
1.1GΩ, the ► symbol lights up on the right-hand side of the bargraph.
Similarly the digital measurement display indicates "- - -" if the insulation
resistance is less than:
