Troubleshooting
BREAD PAN
BREAD TEXTURE
Problem
Heavy dense texture
Open, course, holey texture.
Centre of loaf is raw, not baked enough.
Bread doesn't slice well, very sticky.
CRUST COLOUR AND THICKNESS
Problem
Dark crust colour/too thick
Loaf of bread is burnt.
Crust too light.
PAN PROBLEMS
Problem
Kneader cannot be removed.
Bread sticks to pan/difficult to shake out.

Possible cause
Too much flour.
Not enough yeast.
Not enough sugar.
Salt omitted.
Too much yeast.
Too much liquid.
Too much liquid.
Power cut during operation.
Quantities were too large and machine could
not cope.
Sliced while too hot.
Not using proper knife.
Possible cause
DARK crust setting used.
Bread maker malfunctioning.
Bread not baked long enough.

Solution
Measure accurately.

8 minutes you will need to remove unbaked
loaf from pan and start again with fresh
ingredients.

Allow bread to cool on rack at least 30

Add 15ml/3tsp skimmed milk powder or
replace 50% of water with milk to encourage
browning.
Solution
Add water to bread pan and allow kneader
to soak. Then you may need to twist kneader
slightly to remove it (see cleaning section).
Lightly wipe the inside of bread pan with
vegetable oil.
