8. UNIT SELECTION
<Capacity requirement calculation flow chart>
Obtain the thermal load (Qi).
Correct for the indoor unit return air temperature.
Determine the capacity for each indoor unit.
Calculate the total indoor unit capacity (N).
Select the outdoor unit capacity (X).
Correct the standard outdoor unit capacity (Qs)
for outside air temperature and piping length to
obtain the corrected capacity (Qm).
Thermal load Qi > Corrected capacity Qm
Apportion the corrected outdoor unit capacity (Qm)
to each indoor unit.
Multiply the apportioned capacity by the indoor
unit temperature correction factor, and make sure it
is equal to or greater than the thermal load.
