Whether to tag an outgoing frame depends on the setting of the egress port on a per-VLAN, per-
port basis (recall that a port can belong to multiple VLANs). If the tagging on the egress port is
enabled for the VID of a frame, then the frame is transmitted as a tagged frame; otherwise, it is
transmitted as an untagged frame.

This example shows how to configure the 802.1Q settings on the P-79X.
802.1Q/1P Example
LAN1 and LAN2 are connected to ATAs (Analogue Telephone Adapters) and used for VoIP traffic.
You would start with the following steps.
Click Advanced > 802.1Q > Group Setting, and then click the Edit button to display the

following screen.
In the Name field type VoIP to identify the group.

In the VLAN ID field type in 2 to identify the VLAN group.

In the Control field, select Fixed for LAN1and LAN2 to be permanent members of the VLAN group.
