The following is a list of possible faults that can be generated by the D3 starter control.

Description
Motor did not achieve full speed before the UTS timer (QST 09, P9)
expired.
UTS (Up To
Speed) Time
Check motor for jammed or overloaded condition.
Limit Expired
Evaluate UTS timer setting and, if acceptable, increase UTS timer setting
(QST 09, P9).
The D3 motor thermal overload protection has tripped.
Motor Thermal
Check motor for mechanical failure, jammed, or overloaded condition.
Overload Trip
Verify that there is not an input line power quality problem or excessive
line distortion present.
Phase Rotation
Verify correct phase rotation of input power. Correct wiring if necessary.
Error, not ABC
Phase Rotation
Verify correct phase rotation of input power. Correct wiring if necessary.
Error, not CBA
Line frequency below 23 Hz was detected.
Verify input line frequency.
Low Line
If operating on a generator, check generator speed governor for

malfunctions.
Check input supply for open fuses or open connections

Verify input line frequency.
High Line
If operating on a generator, check generator speed governor for

Verify that single-phase power is connected to the L1 and L2 inputs.

Single-phase power has been detected when the starter is expecting
three phase

Replace fan

cable has not been damaged and
that it is properly seated at both the
keypad and the D3 Control board.

to D3 control card.
Replace remote display.
