example)
Long and short form:
The keywords have a long and a short form. They may be entered in the
short or the long form; other abbreviations are not allowed.
Example:
The following command has the same effect.
NOTE. The short form uses uppercase characters, the long form gives the whole
keyword. Uppercase and lowercase letters are only used for identification in the
instrument manual; the instrument itself does not differentiate between upper-
case and lowercase characters.
Parameter:
The parameter must be separated from the header by a white space. If a
command contains several parameters, these must be separated by a comma
(,). Some of the queries allow the specification of the parameters MINimum,
MAXimum and DEFault. For a description of the various types of parame-
ters, refer to Parameters on page 5–9.
Example:
This query returns the maximum value for the baud rate.
Numeric suffix:
If an instrument has several identical functions or features (such as inputs),
the desired function can be selected by a suffix to the command. Commands
given without suffix are interpreted as having suffix 1.
