Verifying the
Chassis with the
AlliedWare Plus
Commands
2. Connect the other end of the cable to an RS-232 port on a terminal or
personal computer with a terminal emulation program.
3. Configure the VT-100 terminal or terminal emulation program as
follows:
Baud rate: 115,200 bps
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow controller: None
Note
The port settings are for a DEC VT100 or ANSI terminal, or an
equivalent terminal emulator program.
4. Press Enter. You are prompted for a user name and password.
5. Enter the default user name and password. They are "manager" and
"friend" (without the quotes), respectively
Note
User names and passwords are case sensitive.
The local management session starts and the switch displays the
prompt for the User Exec mode, "awplus>".
To confirm the operations of the chassis with the commands in the
AlliedWare Plus Operating System, perform the following procedure:
1. Start a local management session on the switch. For instructions, refer
to "Starting a Local Management Session" on page 114.
2. To display the status of the power supplies and fan modules, enter the
SHOW SYSTEM ENVIRONMENT command in the User Exec or
Privileged Exec mode. The Status column in the display provides the
states of the modules. Components are operating normally when they
have an "Ok" status.
Note
The next command, SHOW CARD, has to be performed from the
Privileged Exec mode. If you are still in the User Exec mode, enter
the ENABLE command to move to the Privileged Exec mode. The
prompt for the mode is "awplus#".
