netTAP NT 151RERE | RealTime Ethernet gateway
DOC150802UM01EN | Revision 1 | English | 201607 | Released | Public
There are two steps of error diagnosis:
the initial approximate diagnosis by checking the LEDs of the device,
·
the comprehensive diagnosis with the SYCON.net configuration and
·
diagnosis software via USB connection.
The following overview describes the error conditions that may be detected
by checking the LEDs (for identification of the LEDs, please refer to section
Positions of the interfaces and LEDs [} page 25]).
For information on diagnosis with SYCON.net, see operating
instruction manual Configuration of Gateway and Proxy Devices,
DOC081201OIxxEN on the Gateway Solutions DVD in the
Documentation\english\1.Software\SYCON.net

and Proxy Devices OI xx DE.pdf directory.

RealTime Ethernet systems [} page 57].
Cause/remedy
The device is not powered or the device is
defective and needs replacement.
After a power cycle the device has not found a
valid firmware and remains in boot loader mode.
The firmware of the device has to be "recovered".
See chapter Firmware recovery [} page 36].
If recovery fails, the load memory of the device
might be defective.
The device could not be initialized. No boot loader
was found in the load memory. The load memory of
the device might be defective or a USB cable,
which has pin 4 connected with ground, might be
attached to the device. This prevents the device
from starting.
The hardware of the device is defective and needs
replacement.
The device is well initialized. Further diagnosis is
possible with the APL LED. See section APL LED [
} page 56].
The communication at port X2 or/and port X3 is not
in data exchange mode. See also section APL LED
[} page 56].
