Analyzer System Operation
The N9923A RF vector network analyzer operates as either a 1-port or 2-port
network analyzer (NA). One port measurements are made using PORT 1 and
two port measurements are made using both PORT 1 and PORT 2.
The NA function of the analyzer also supports cable and antenna test (CAT)
functions.

All N9923A RF vector network analyzers have the same hardware. Options to
increase functionality are enabled via licenses, additional hardware is not
required.

Functional Groups of the Analyzer

The operation of the analyzer can be separated into two major functional
groups. Each group consists of assemblies that perform distinct functions.
Some of the assemblies are related to more than one group, and both groups,
to some extent, are interrelated and affect each other's performance.
