9. Position the search head parallel and in line with the reinforcement bar (Figure 16). The sound/
signal will be at a maximum.
10. Press [ ]. The display will show:
11. Rotate the search head until it is at 90° (orthogonal) to the bar. Use the notches in the sides of
the search head and the line across the top of the search head to aid alignment (Figure 17).
The sound/signal will be at a minimum when the search head is aligned at 90° to the bar and
the notches/line are in line with the bar.
12. When the search head is aligned correctly with the reinforcement bar, press [ ].
The Covermeter will display a depth of cover and a bar size.
