Testing in G.SHDSL STU-R TE mode

6 Press the DSL Stop soft key to stop the modem.
All DSL results will remain in view until the modem is
started again or another test is selected.
Testing line quality is complete.
The ping test sends a ping packet through the modem to an
IP address or DNS name (could be a network switch or web
address) to test for connectivity.
NOTE:
You can also check connectivity using the web browser.
See "Web browser" in the base manual for more informa-
tion.
The ping feature is available when the data mode is set to one
of the following:
– IP over Ethernet (IPoE)
– IP over ATM (IPoA)
The following procedure describes how to perform a ping test.
To perform a ping test
1 Locate the Actions soft key.
If you do not see the Actions soft key, do the following:
a Check the Data LED.
The Data LED must be green in order to use the
Actions soft key. If the Data LED is red, the network
connection is not properly established.
b Press the Configure navigation key and make sure all
test settings are correct for the circuit.
c Press the Home navigation key.
