3.10 Battery

Attention
!
Observe the following when removing a
battery:
A) The machine must be switched off.
B) Remove the cables from the battery terminals first.
C) Avoid short-circuits across the battery terminals or
inadvertently connecting/short-circuiting the battery +
terminal to some other part of the machine (Short-circuiting
will cause sparks).
D) Avoid sparks, fires, and other sources of ignition. Do not
smoke.
E) When the battery is to be reconnected, connect the +
terminal first, followed by the – terminal.
Attention
!
Sulphuric acid is hazardous and can cause
loss of sight or serious burns and generates
volatile gases.
Battery charging
The battery charger's terminals are connected to the battery
so that the + terminal is connected to the battery's +
terminal, and the - terminal is connected to the battery's
– terminal.
Battery fluid level
The level should be checked once a year. Only distilled water
may be added. (Picture 1)
