3.6 Fuel - continued
Removing air from the fuel system/fuel pump
1. Open the bleed fixture on the fuel filter. (Picture 1)
2. To activate the fuel pump, switch on the machine.
3. Close the bleed fixture.
4. Turn the ignition key until the engine starts.
Attention
!
If the engine is very warm, do not attempt
to bleed the fuel system. If fuel spills onto
a very hot exhaust manifold, it may ignite.
Attention
!
Switch the engine off before checking/
replacing fuel hoses. Damaged fuel hoses
can cause fire.
Fuel hoses must be checked every time the machine
is serviced
1. Check for loose hose clamps – lubricate with a little oil
on the clamp screw and tighten.
2. If hoses and hose clamps are worn, they should be
immediately replaced.
3. Remove air from the fuel system, if fuel hoses have been
replaced.
