Adjustment Procedures
1. Position where the presser plate is open (position at the time of sewing)
1) Remove presser plate 7 from the feed base.
2) Loosen screw 4, turn presser arm 5 in the direction of arrow
mark A or B, and adjust so that the bottom surface of presser
foot 1 comes in uniform contact with the knurled top surface
of eyelet holding plate 2.
3) At the same time, move presser arm 5 and adjust the
longitudinal position of presser foot 1.
4) Tighten screw 4 and fix presser arm 5.
5) Loosen two screws 3, move presser arm base 8 to the left or
right and adjust so that the edge of presser foot 1 is aligned
with the edge of eyelet holding plate 2 (0 to 0.5 mm).
6) Tighten two screws 3 and fix presser arm base 8.
7) Set the presser plate onto the feed base and confirm the position
of the presser plate in terms of needle and throat plate in the
manual mode.
* 1. If the presser pressure is high and the sewing product is
thin, the edge (needle) side of presser foot 1 is likely to
rise. In this case, twist the presser foot in the direction of
arrow mark A so that the edge side is slightly lowered in
the afirementioned step 2).
* 2. See the Instruction Manual for the adjustment of the
presser pressure and the height of the presser.
(Caution) In case of floppy fabric, when making presser foot 1
come near throat plate 6, be sure to check the position of the
presser foot in terms of needle and throat plate. In addition,
when checking the position, perform and check opening/closing
of the cloth open mechanism.
Adjustment Procedures
1) Adjusting the longitudinal position of the cloth cutting knife
1. Loosen knife stopper setscrew 2.
2. Loosen knife fixing plate setscrew 3, and adjust the position
of cloth cutting knife 4 so that the portion where cloth cutting
knife 4 comes in contact with knife stopper 1 is 65.5xmm
(SS/RS types) or 55.5 mm (JS/CS/TS types) away from the
center of the needle bar, and tighten knife fixing plate setscrew

3. Press knife stopper 1 against cloth cutting knife 4 and tighten
knife stopper setscrew 2 to fix the knife stopper.
(Caution) 1. Note that there are new type 5 and old type 6 of the cloth cutting knife base.
2. In case of SS/RS types and JS/CS/TS types, the respective positions of knife stopper 1 of
new type cloth cutting knife base 5 are different from each other.
3. When the cloth cutting knife base is old type 6, adjust the position to 64 mm from the center
of the needle bar. (Object of sewing type : SS/RS/JS)

Results of Improper Adjustment
™ When the presser is tilted, the
fabric is not uniformly pressed.
As a result, deformation of
sewing pattern or stitch skipping
will be caused.
In addition, a partial presser
pressure is applied and the cloth
open mechanism does not work
well. As a result, deformation of
sewing pattern or the like will be
caused.
™ When the longitudinal or lateral
position of the presser foot is
improper, interference of needle
with throat plate occurs. As a
r e s u l t , n e e d l e b r e a k a g e ,
damage of parts, irregular
stitches, etc. will be caused.
Results of Improper Adjustment
When the longitudinal position of
the cloth cutting knife is improper :
™ For the cut-after knife, the
stitches of the top section or
narrow section of eyelet will be
cut.
™ For the cut-before knife, stitches
near the top section of eyelet is
deformed.
