To ensure that the cross-feeder does not collide with the

packer:
Take the insert out of the twine box.

Remove circlip 31 and 32 (Figure 39).


Drive hexagon cross shaft 21 out of cross-feeder drive

pinion 29 in the direction of the arrow (Figure 39) after
undoing the clamping discs on pinion 19 and bevel gear 20
(Figure 33).
Align and jam cross-feeder crank 30 as shown in Figure 40

or Figure 41 parallel with the top of the packer box 23.
AP 530:
Move packer crank 22 downwards into the vertical position

as shown in Figure 40 by turning the flywheel in the normal
running direction.
In this position, push hexagon cross shaft 21 into

crossfeeder drive pinion 29 (Figure 39). If this is not
possible, keep moving packer crank 22 (Figure 40) into the
horizontal position by turning the flywheel until it is possible
to push hexagon cross shaft 21 into cross-feeder drive
pinion 29.
AP 630 and AP 730:
Move packer crank 22 as shown in Figure 41, by turning the

flywheel in the normal running direction, so that it is parallel
with the top of the packer box and jam in position.
ln this position, push hexagon cross shaft 21 into

crossfeeder drive pinion 29 (Figure 39). lf this is not
possible, keep moving packer crank 22 (Figure 41) into the
horizontal position by turning the flywheel, until it is possible

to push hexagon cross shaft 21 into cross-feeder drive
pinion 29.
Retighten the clamping discs on the pinion 19 and bevel

gear 20. Replace circlip 31 and 32 (Figure 39). Fit the insert
into the twine box.
Refit the casing panel into the twine box.

